Are You Facing Any Storm's In Your Life?
Living in Texas we face tornado season every year. Sometimes we are prepared for the storms and other times we are not. Some days it could be sunny and nice outside. And by the afternoon it will be storming raining. A tornado is a rapidly rotating column of air that is in contact with both the surface of the Earth and a cumulonimbus cloud. Most of the houses here are setup to withhold the storms and some are not.
For most of us that is how our life is. Storms seem to just pop up in our life out of nowhere. When you began to go through your storm you tend to forget about God and the promises that He has told you. And can I be completely honest I am going through the biggest storm in my life right now where God wants me to Trust Him.
I continuously sit here and ask why am I going through this not realizing that I haven’t submitted this situation to Him. And it makes me wonder how can I honor and worship God but not trust Him? I feel like I trust Him! I want to trust Him! In my heart I believe that I am trusting Him with every area of my life!
Unbeknownst to me I was allowing Fear to come into my mind thinking that I had to do this and do that to control the situation that God is permitting to happen so that I can put all of my faith and trust in Him. Believing that Abba father will take care of me like He said that He would. Proverbs 1:27 - "Fear will come to you like a storm. Hard times will come like a strong wind. When trouble and suffering come upon you.”
Then I remembered how the disciples went through a storm testing their faith. In the midst of the storm the disciples were not alone. Jesus was right there in the stern of the boat sleeping. As a result, with Jesus on your boat, the storms may rock, but you won’t sink.
God wants to know Can You Endure the Storm? Trust God with whatever you’ve been holding back. Trust Him without reservation. “A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.” Mark 4:37 NIV
Heavenly Father, I trust you with every storm that comes my way. Thank You for loving me no matter how stubborn I am. Thank you for showing me the plan and purpose that you have for my life. Thank you for being with me, guiding my steps, and giving me divine direction. In Jesus, Amen
