KNOWING WHOSE YOU ARE

As a child, we feel safe knowing our parents and that we belong. There is a sense of authority when we are in the comfort of our own home. We can freely access things in the house when we know our parents give us permission to. In the bible Romans 8:15-17 says that our Heavenly Father has adopted us as His own children. “For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”

We can be confident in the relationship we have with our Heavenly Father. Even if your relationship with your biological father was not perfect, we can be sure that God is a good and perfect Father. In 1 John 3:1 it states “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” With that scripture it lets me know that we don’t have to second-guess His love for is unconditionally.

Your identity should be in the Father and if you are not sure ask Holy spirit to reveal the Father’s heart to you. Allow the truth of God’s word to transform you and thank God for the privilege of being His child. It is an honor to be called sons and daughters of the Most High. And He desires to pour out His blessings among us. So, start today by declaring Whose you are and Who you are living for. Remember that God loves you. He will protect you. And that He has good plans for your life!
