Wilderness Season

Do you feel like you are wilderness season? Like time is at a standstill. Or you feel like you are in a dry place. Yes me too! In my study time I was reading Isaiah 43:19 – “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

And I remembered when I was going through my wilderness season. The enemy began to turn my world upside down. So, I thought! During my prayer time God began to purge me of anything that did not belong in my body. And that did not align up with his word.

That was my transformation season. God was changing my mindset on my beliefs. At that time, I did not know that God will put you in situations to get your attention. I was blaming everything on the devil for years disregarding the signs right in front of me. God began pruning me drying out all the old stuff that I’ve accumulated over the years. And God will prune you as well when it’s your time.

I remember going through my pruning process I was like 32 years old and God began to remove me from toxic friendships. He will cut away dead branches that bear no fruit and weak parts that mean no value to your life so that you can bear much fruit if we remain in Him.

God will isolate you. Isolation means the process of being isolated. He will also separate you from family. Which may seem like He is taking everything away from you. But He just wants to make sure that you have No distraction. So that you can rely on him and see Him as your provider.

This reminds me in scripture that states God will not put new wine into the old wine skin. Furthermore, that’s what apart of the pruning process looks like. Getting rid of the old and making room for the new you. Being in isolation forces you to setup boundaries.

When you except Jesus as your Lord and saver you will not want to do those old things anymore. You will not want to hang out with those old friends who are not going in the direction you are going in.

He will bring you out of your comfort zone so that he could build up your character. Which teaches you how to love, like He loves people, how to have patients, how to show kindness to one another, and how to have joy no matter what situation you are going through.

When you be still and seek God and meditate on his word you will begin to have great revelation. You will begin to see yourself as sons and daughters of God. Also, you will see how the bible is so relatable to us today.

As Holy Spirit began to transform your life it leaves your Spirit man craving more.

Which could be:

· More teaching

· Learning how to read the bible

· Understanding what it is that you are reading

· Seeking holy spirit for new revelation of what the word says

· Joining a new church

o Surrounding yourself with new community

o Surrounding yourself with people who understands what you are going through

In Isaiah 26.9 it states – “With my soul have I desired thee in the night; with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.”

Get your heart into alignment with Gods heart by surrendering and submitting your life to Him. It shows us what that looks like in Ezekiel 36:26 – 27 – “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes.”

From my own personal experience God had to break down many blocks and walls to get to my stony heart. It has taken years for me to see people how He sees them. Love people how He loves them. And to give grace just as He does.

I just pray that if you are feeling like you are going nowhere in your life. Take this time to seek God on the things that matter to Him. And what is it that He wants you to do in your wilderness season. Don’t focus so much on your problems and what you are going through. Give yourself grace in your walk and watch him began to work in your life!
